League play – a central part of the club's activities year-round
Ullevi Tennis Club is one of the most active clubs in Sweden when it comes to league play. We participate annually with over 25 teams in various leagues – from the youngest juniors to experienced veterans – both indoors and outdoors. Among our teams, there are boys' and girls' teams in the age categories of 13, 15, and 18 years, senior teams primarily in the Elite Series, as well as a large number of veteran teams in classes ranging from 35+ to 70+. League play is an important part of our activity where we create team spirit, match experience, and joy for players at all levels.
The Elite Series Rules 2024
We are proud that both of our representative teams – men and women – played in the Elite Series in 2024, the highest league level in Swedish team tennis.
The men's team had a strong season with several close matches against tough opponents. The team consisted of both experienced elite players and young rising talents, several with international experience.
The women's team demonstrated great play and fighting spirit throughout the year. The squad was composed of a well-integrated team with a strong local connection and players with backgrounds from both national teams and college tennis.
The Elite Series is one of the absolute highlights of the year – for players, coaches, and spectators – and provides our own juniors with inspiration and the opportunity to watch tennis at the highest Swedish level at home.
Match play and club culture
We see league play as more than just competition – it is a way to build club culture. Many of our players transition from playing in youth teams to one day representing the club in the Elitserien. This creates unity, pride, and long-term development. In all teams, we work to strengthen match preparation, tactics, and sportsmanship – with the support of coaches and team leaders.
