Parent education – a safe guidance in your child's tennis journey
Being a parent to a child or teenager who plays tennis is both fun and important – but it can also raise many questions. How can I best support them? What is my role during matches? How does my behavior affect my child's experience of the sport?
That is why we offer a parenting education – a free series of short films that help you understand what is important in your child's sports development. The goal is to provide you as a parent with tools to create a positive, long-term, and healthy relationship with tennis – both for your child and for yourself.
The education covers subjects such as:
What characterizes positive sports parenting?
How can I help my child handle setbacks and successes?
What does research say about long-term development?
How is joy and motivation created in training and competition?
How can I talk to my child before and after a match?
What role do coaches, clubs, and parents play – and how do we collaborate?
The training has been developed by experts and is presented in an accessible format via YouTube. You can watch it at your own pace and preferably with other parents.
